Leo Di Caprio, Robert De Niro, Martin Scorsese appear in ad for Manila resort

Is Brad Pitt joining them?

"Hey fellas, you made it! Welcome to Manila!" director Martin Scorsese says as he greets two men in what looks like a swanky hotel lobby.

The men happen to be the director's two favorite actors: Robert De Niro and Leonardo Di Caprio.

Nope, this isn't the BTS (behind the scenes) of a forthcoming movie. It's the new commercial for City of the Dreams, the newly opened entertainment and gaming complex located on Roxas Boulevard in Parañaque, just a stone throw's away from the Mall of Asia.

Stars here for grand launch?

The commercial, which runs for a minute and was aired on local TV, has fueled speculation that Scorsese, De Niro and  Di Caprio will be on hand for the grand launch of the complex this February.

City of Dreams had a soft launch last December 14.

However, the media office of the complex did not conifrm to Yahoo Philippines whether the stars and the director will be in Manila, nor did the office reveal the actual date in February of their big launch.

De Niro's surprise appearance last June

It will be recalled that Robert de Niro made a surprise appearance in Manila in June of 2014 when developer Melco Crown Philippines announced that the complex would host the world-famous Nobu Restaurant and Hotels in the City of Dreams.

De Niro is co-owner of Nobu.

At that time, he was accompanied by Chef Nobu Matsuhisa, Hollywood film producer Meir Tepper and Melco Crown chief executive Trevor Howell.

Astronomical paycheck

Vanity Fair has said that while it may not be news to have "Oscar-caliber actors doing commercials," it's how much these guys were paid that's mind-boggling.

De Niro and Di Caprio are said to have received $13 million apiece to star in what appears to be a series of commercials.

All three were also seen in a another ad for Melco Crown's Studio City in Macau.

Brad Pitt, too?

In total, the spots are rumored to cost $70 million.

But there's another buzz attached to the City of Dreams Manila.

Brad Pitt may make an appearance in future spots.
