Lian Paz is disappointed at EB Babe Yosh for allegedly hooking up with comedian Wally Bayola in the controversial sex video scandal.

Lian, a former EB Babe explained, “Sorry, mas galit ako sa girl. Alam niyang may asawa at pamilya si Kuya Wally.”

She herself, whose marriage to Paolo Contis is on the way to annulment,  knows the pain a troubled family life can bring.

“May pinaggagalingan ako,” she said at the presscon of GMA 7’s “Prinsesa ng Buhay Ko,”  which premieres Monday, September 23.

But she refuses to dwell on the past anymore because things are going her way, personally and professionally.

Lian has reconnected with a schoolmate in grade school and high school who has been courting her for the past six months, businessman John Cabahug.

Lian reveals that the guy, a single dad, has been keeping tabs on her troubled marriage through media.

Daughters’ approval

Their respective daughters (she has two; he has one) have no complaints about their parents’ closeness.

“Napakilala ko na siya sa mga daughters ko (aged three and two). Okay naman sa kanila.  Nakakatuwa ang mga anak ko. Parang mature na utak nila.

Alam nila kung sino ang Papa nila (Paolo) at ang Tito John nila. Iba pa rin ang pakikitungo nila sa dalawa.”

John’s seven year old daughter, is just as nice.  Lian reports that the girl is close to her dad because she’s an only child.  She goes where her dad goes.

Despite everything, Lian is careful about  her next relationship.  Like all moms – especially single ones – the guy must love her children the way she loves them.

And Lian is not looking for a here-today-gone tomorrow set-up.

“Nagwi-wish din ako for someone  na mag aalaga sa ‘kin. Dapat kung may relationship, yon na talaga. Kahit sa mga  magulang ko, sinabi ko na kung may boyfriend man ako, dapat forever.”

On striving to be a better actress

The scars of her failed marriage are still there.

Instead of nursing the wounds,  Lian is turning it to something positive by turning them into building blocks that will make her a better actress.

Lian has appeared in “Enchanted Garden” and the drama series “Magpakailanman”  among others. She also underwent an acting workshop.  She has also a string of TV guestings.

She plays a villain for the first time in “Prinsesa ng Aking Buhay,” a light drama  which revives the Kris Bernal-Aljur Abrenica love team.

“It’s exciting and challenging at kumukuha ako ng  inspiration kila Tita Carmi (Martin) and Tita Maritoni (Fernandez).”

The veteran contravidas also play mean girls in the series.

Lian hopes the series will be the first of other projects for her.  After all, she’s a single mom with daughters to clothe and feed.

“Kapag nanay ka at ginagawa mo ang  lahat para sa anak mo, may awa ang Diyos.  Hindi ka pababayaan.”

Who knows, “Magpakailanman” might feature  her, not just as guest, but the star of her own story someday.

Lian’s story can inspire, and make life more bearable for other single moms out there.
