London creates One Direction-themed travel itinerary

Taking your tween daughter to London this summer? Make her squeal with delight and take her on a One Direction-themed tour of the city, created by the city’s tourism board -- and perhaps fellow tween parents.

In a move that capitalizes on one of the country’s most influential and powerful exports -- boy band One Direction -- London’s tourism board has created an itinerary that allows young, breathless 1Directioners to trace the footsteps of their favorite members.

If there’s 'one thing' you have to do, they advise, it’s to hop on an open-top bus tour like the one featured in the band’s video “One Thing,” and take in sites like Big Ben, Trafalgar Square, Westminster Abbey, St. Paul’s Cathedral, Covent Garden and the EDF Energy London Eye.

Though they stop short of recommending that you commandeer a police boat as the band does in their video "Midnight Memories," an alternative is to hop aboard a speedboat tour on the river Thames. RIB speedboat tours pass by the Houses of Parliament, EDF Energy London Eye and the Tower Bridge.

After a tour in Berlin, the band’s waxy doppelgangers will be back in London at Madame Tussauds in August where fans will be able to take a slew of selfies with their favorite band members.

And for stargazing, check out neighborhoods like Shoreditch, where Harry Styles owns property, and Primrose Hill, where he and bandmate Liam Payne have also been house hunting.

Other Styles sightings include the private members’ club Shoreditch House, and Camden Town, a popular area for strolling and shopping.

Meanwhile at the height of Biebermania, his hometown of Stratford, Ontario in Canada also rode on the coattails of their most famous export by creating a travel itinerary of 'Justin's Stratford.'
