London set to welcome Taillevent 110 wine and dine concept

Honoring wine with a list by the glass and seasonal cuisine: the formula of Les 110 de Taillevent, a more relaxed incarnation of the two Michelin-starred temple of gastronomy headed up by Alain Solivérès, is coming to the British capital.

Come fall, London foodies will have the opportunity to enjoy the same oenological experience that Parisians have been reveling in since 2012. The French institution is expanding to a listed building in Cavendish Square, a part of the Marylebone neighborhood right in the heart of the city. Interior designer Pierre-Yves Rochon, who created the décor at the Parisian location, is responsible for bringing a similar feel to London.

Les 110 de Taillevent gets its name from the 110 wines available by the glass. The restaurant is one of the few places in Paris that can boast such an impressive list of wines by the glass. In fact, the restaurant on the rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré was one of the first to use Coravin, the extraordinary device that allows you to pour a glass of wine without removing the cork, which allows them to serve premium wines in 7cl and 14cl glasses without necessitating the purchase of an entire bottle.

The menu at London's 110 will mirror its Parisian counterpart, so diners can expect every dish to be paired with four wine recommendations. Because all the dishes are made under the control of the chef of Taillevent, the famous restaurant near the Champs-Elysées that opened in the aftermath of World War II, the simple but high-end classical French food will continue to highlight the freshest seasonal ingredients, allowing the primary savors to speak for themselves on the plate.

Meanwhile, in honor of the new opening, the Paris establishment will feature dishes with a British flair (lamb chops in mint sauce, fish and chips) as well as wines that come from Commonwealth countries such as Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and England).
