Londoners to dine in the sky

Events in the Sky has also brought its trandemarked sky platform to Shanghai, China

Eleven chefs, considered to be the crème de la crème of the London food scene, will serve their culinary delights on a platform elevated 25 meters off the ground from September 17-30.

Events in the Sky first created such an event in 2009, giving select epicureans the opportunity to savor the creations of some of France's greatest chefs some 50 meters above the Tuileries Gardens. Yannick Alléno, Thierry Marx and Frédéric Anton all participated in making that event an experience to remember.

And next month Events in the Sky will reinstall its trademarked sky platform in London, at Saint Katharine Docks, just down from the Tower Bridge. The floating pop-up restaurant will be accessible September 17-30. Twenty-two foodies will have a seat at the table for each session, running from breakfast to dinner by way of a cocktail hour session. On the platform, each chef will handle his business alongside a sommelier and a waiter.

Eleven iconic chefs from the British capital will be participating. Mark Sargeant of Morden & Lea will be in high demand. The lauded chef previously worked with Gordon Ramsay from 2001 to 2008. Sophie Michell will also take part. She is one of the youngest female chefs to ever run the kitchen at the Belgraves Hotel, and has also been the personal chef for both Claudia Schiffer and Leonardo DiCaprio.

To snag a seat at the table, it is imperative that you make a reservation at eventsinthesky.co.uk. Breakfast will set you back £50 (about €70) and lunch £125 (about €178=. The champagne cocktail hour session will cost £75 (about €106), and dinner will top out at £200 (about €285).
