Love Radio is FM Radio Station of the Year #YahooAwards
90.7 Love Radio has reaffirmed its supremacy by bagging the FM Radio Station of the Year honors in the recently-concluded Yahoo Celebrity Awards held at the Mall of Asia Arena on Friday, July 18.
Love Radio’s 196, 407 votes proved that true what the surveys show, it is the station to beat these days. MOR 101.9 came in second, with 129,662 votes, followed by Barangay LS 97.1 (52,928 votes), Energy FM 106.7 (3,572 votes) and 91.5 Big Radio (2,160 votes).
Catchy taglines
Another proof of its popularity is its catchy taglines. It is Love Radio which came up with the popular lines, “Kailangan pa bang i-memorize 'yan,” “Bisyo na to” and “Diskarte lang yan.”
Love Radio’s main strength is its DJs, who command a strong following among their many listeners. They have also become celebrities themselves.
Among them are three-time Yahoo Male DJ of the Year awardee Papa Jack and the tandem of Chris Tsuper and Nicole Hyala, whose hit show, Tambalan, won the Best Radio Show of the Year award in the 2013 Yahoo OMG Awards.
Yahoo’s FM Radio Station of the Year award, which is now on its second year, shows that times and listeners’ tastes may change. But radio will always be around as a constant companion in good times and bad.
