[MAMA] ′American Idol′ Adam Lambert and B.o.B to perform at ′2012 MAMA′

Adam Lambert and B.o.B (Bobby Ray) will be following in the footsteps of Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre to appear in the 2012 Mnet Asian Music Awards (2012 MAMA) in Hong Kong.

At the press roundtable for 2012 MAMA held on November 20, the producers of MAMA announced that Adam Lambert, the star of American Idol 8, and Billboard chart-topping hip-hop artist B.o.B will be performing at MAMA this year.

Director Han Dong Chul said, "Adam Lambert is a global artist that made it to the finals of American Idol 8, and recently went on tour with the members of Queen. B.o.B is also a musician that became globally renowned with his hit Nothin′ On You, which topped Billboard′s singles chart two weeks in a row."

Director Shin Hyung Gwan added, "[MAMA is] currently on its way to growth. K-Pop has also become more valued compared to how it was last year. Because of this, many more partners and artists have shown they wanted to work together. Through the upcoming ceremony, everyone will be able to see that it has taken another step closer to becoming a true Asian awards ceremony."

About Psy′s performance, which has been drawing much attention, he said, "We believe that Psy will be able to connect more with Korean production teams. We expect to be able to understand Psy′s character more thoroughly. His performance will be one that expresses his charms better than the ones he showcased overseas. We′re also preparing a special collaboration with surprise guests."

The producers of MAMA have warned that the performances by the big overseas stars will be "mammoth performances," and are expecting the ceremony to be "a place in which music, artists and fans from all around the world will be able to share their emotions through music."

2012 MAMA will be held on November 30 in Hong Kong.
