Marco, Lara tie the knot

Marco Alcaraz and 2005 Miss International Precious Lara Quigaman  tied the knot on Sunday, July 8, at Hacienda Isabella, in Indang, Cavite.

The teary-eyed bride and groom also took advantage of the situation to announce that they are expecting their first child in November.

“God really does answer prayers and more often than not He gives us more than we ask of Him, and He gave me, not a ‘good man’ but the ‘best and perfect man’ for me,” Lara described her groom.

Pastor John Vidal Gay, the couple’s close friend from Without Walls Ministries  officiated the wedding.

Light lavender, blush and pink

Color motif was light lavender, powder, and blush pink. Lara wore a beige Veejay Floresca gown made of imported corded lace from the award-winning designer’s recent trip to San Francisco. The skirt is made of 100 yards or bias cut silk organza with a surprise element.

Marco, on the other hand, wore a Randy Ortiz suit.

Marco said in a phone interview weeks before the wedding that he and Lara opted for a low-key garden wedding with only friends and family in attendance.

As it turned out, the only showbiz personalities in the list of principal sponsors  are Marco’stalent manager Noel Ferrer, ABS-CBN Channel Head Cory Vidanes, and GMA Network VP for Entertainment Lilybeth Rasonable.

Other principal sponsors are former senator Juan Miguel Zubiri, Governor Luis El Ray Villafuerte, and Vice Governor Deogracias Savellano.

The rest of the entourage was star-studded: Valerie Concepcion (who introduced the couple to each other three years ago), Maja Salvador, Gerald Anderson,  Jason Abalos, Alfred Vargas,  Luis Alandy, and director Dominic Zapata.

Lara’s fellow beauty queens also made up the female entourage.

“Gusto ko lang ipagsigawan sa buong mundo na mahal na mahal ko si Lara. I want to give her the wedding that she wants… it doesn’t have to be grand basta ang importante sa amin makasama namin ang family and close friends namin,” Marco, who left  all the details of the wedding to Lara, said in a media release.

The groom added in the phone interview that they chose vintage travel as the wedding theme since it reflects his and Lara’s love for yes – travel.

Plans

Between the two, it is Lara, Marco added, who wants more children.

“We will open a fine dining restaurant in Alabang by August,” Marco revealed.

Lara will buckle down to work in the restaurant after the wedding.
