Kapamilya actor Matteo Guidicelli will do "everything it takes" to keep girlfriend Sarah Geronimo.

“My family loves Sarah, I love her a lot. This woman, she’s worth everything. It’s not because who she is, Sarah Geronimo. It’s the person who she really is outside the camera when we’re together, without the makeup and everything. She’s very true. I don’t think I can find anyone like this person,” Matteo said in an interview on “The Buzz” on Sunday, August 10.

Optimistic

Matteo doesn’t want to lose Sarah.

“I hope so (she’s the one). I try to be optimistic in everything, so I wanna say 'I know so,' but in every relationship, there are challenges. Our relationship is not an easy ride. All relationships are difficult, challenging.”

Sarah and Matteo have been together for almost a year but it took a while before the couple admitted their relationship.

Very proud

“It’s my way of respecting her side, Sarah’s side, her family. It’s not that they didn’t want. It’s something we talked about and wanted to keep it private. I just wanted to respect everybody in her side,” he said.

Matteo feels proud Sarah stood up for herself when she finally admitted their relationship at the thanksgiving party for her movie “Maybe This Time.”

“Pinaglaban niya din ako, that’s why I’m very proud of her.”

He added, “I guess she felt it was time. I’m very proud of her, not because she said I’m her boyfriend. I don’t really care about that. I’m more proud of her because she stood up as a woman and said what she wants in life.”

Happiest man in the world

The actor-athlete won Sarah’s heart because of his honesty and was “the happiest man in the world” when the Popstar Princess finally agreed to be his girlfriend.

“Honestly, at first, she didn’t want because she didn’t want a showbiz guy and all that stuff. But I always tell her ‘Follow your heart. We’re not doing anything wrong. You know we’re loving each other purely and truly.”

Matteo denied having a misunderstanding with Sarah, who was not able to go to Cebu to watch him join the recently-held Ironman triathlon competition.

Better luck next year

“Not at all. The whole week she had work planned, "The Voice Kids", charity. She was also sick the whole week. She also has to catch up with  commitments. I told her to block off (her schedule) next year because she has to be there.”

Matteo is praying his relationship with Sarah will last.

“I pray every night for this, for everything to go well. I really hope. We can’t really tell the future. But we work for the future, for the best.”
