Miguel Arteta to direct Elle Fanning’s ‘All the Bright Places’

Production has begun on the sequel to smash hit "Maleficent," with Elle Fanning and Angelina Jolie reprising their roles as Sleeping Beauty and her conflicted surrogate mother

Starring Elle Fanning, the movie adaptation of Jennifer Niven's young-adult romance "All the Bright Places" is to be directed by Miguel Arteta, it was revealed Monday.

Niven, a well-known teen media mogul who founded online magazine Germ, will write the script, reports Variety.

Her novel that inspired the movie was published earlier this year by Random House Children's Books/Knopf Books for Young Readers and is already Number 5 on the New York Times bestseller list.

The novel has been on the shelves in 35 territories.
