Miss Earth 2014: Miss Poland Patrycja Dorywalska
What is your environmental advocacy and why did you choose this?
As far as I can remember, I’ve been exploring my region in the most possibly active way. It lets me get to know my area, fall in love with it, and realize how crucial it is to protect it. When you like something, you do your best to keep it for longer and to share it with those you love.
It also applies to environmental issues and tourism. That’s why I’ve been working on promoting eco tourism, especially among children. Day trips to the local forest or park are the best lessons of ecology. Playing games and doing sports help the young ones to understand that "explore" should never mean "exploit."
Early childhood education is key to bringing up ecologically-conscious tourists who are also active, fit, and happy.
