MTRCB to meet 'PBB: All In’ execs over nude painting challenge

PBB Housemate Jayme Jalandoni at first refused, and then gave in to the nude painting challenge

The Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) has summoned ABS-CBN to a meeting on Wednesday , June 11,  to explain the episodes featuring a nude painting challenge in  “Pinoy Big Brother: All In.”

Lawyer Toto Villareal, MTRCB chair, said in a text message to Yahoo Philippines that the Board is concerned over “Big Brother,” or “Kuya’s” challenge to housemate Jayme Jalondoni to pose for a nude painting session. The show’s June 4 episode saw Jalondoni refusing at first.   But she later gave in, even if it went against her will.

Jalondoni even chose fellow housemate Michelle Gumabao to join her in the challenge, upon “Kuya’s” instructions.  The latter’s sobs, according to MTRCB showed that the challenge threatened her religious beliefs as well.

The  Board believes that  “the pressure exerted upon the said housemates arguably constitutes moral and psychological violence upon them and may violate their dignity as persons.”  It cited its  2012 Memorandum of Understanding with ABS-CBN and other networks “for the positive and non-derogatory portrayal of women in television, in support of the Magna Carta of Women 2009.”

Villareal added that the conflict with religion and “incursion into otherwise harmonious family relations”  borders on ‘insensitivity toward Filipino values of faith and family.’

The MTRCB is also inviting representatives from the Philippine Commission on Women to the conference.
