‘My Daughter Seo Young’ Passes 20 Percent Viewership Ratings in Just Two Episodes

With only two episodes in, it looks like KBS has found itself a jackpot with its new drama, My Daughter Seo Young.

According to the latest findings by AGB Nielsen Media Research, the September 16 airing of the second episode of the new KBS drama hit a stellar rating of 26.2 percent for its time slot. The ratings marked a 6.8 percent hike since the drama’s first episode airing a day before which recorded a solid 19.3 percent.

With ratings high and climbing with only two episodes aired, many are already beginning to wonder if My Daughter Seo Young will become Korea’s newest, “nation’s drama”-status, with the title generally being given to dramas that bring in over 40 percent ratings.

Still, it remains too early to tell if the drama will maintain its high ratings with the drama almost undeniably having received some help from the time slot’s previous drama, Unexpected You, which lodged ratings over 40 percent in the same time slot until its recent final episode.

But with a solid storyline and praise being heaped on My Daughter Seo Young’s leads, including Lee Bo Young, Lee Sang Yoon, Park Hae Jin and more, the drama is being watched closely with high expectations by many.
