Neri Naig: I’m not yet ok, but I’m getting there
After weeks of keeping the public guessing on what her feelings are, Chito Miranda’s girlfriend Neri Naig finally broke her silence over the video scandal involving her and the Parokya ni Edgar vocalist.
In her official statement, coursed through her management company DMV Entertainment on Sunday, August 18, Neri admitted that “I am not yet ok, but I am getting there.”
She added that her first reaction after finding out that the video went viral was to send a message to her family at once.
“For two weeks, nagkulong lang ako sa room ko and just wanted to disappear. I didn't want to see or talk or hear from anyone.”
Neri revealed that she finally decided to start reading messages from family, friends, acquaintances and even random people she does not know, only a few days ago. And that’s when she felt how much she is loved.
“Grabeng pagmamahal yung pinaramdam nila sa akin.”
Thank yous
Neri relates that Chito asked her to watch footage from TV shows online.
“The first one he showed me was from The Buzz, and Tito Boy's (Abunda) comment made me want to hug him agad. What he did and said about us, helped me a lot. Then I saw what Showbiz Inside Report did. Pinakita nila kami bilang isang normal na couple na nagmamahalan. I also saw what they showed on Star Talk, and read an article from GMA 7, and what they said was fair and unbiased at naging malaking tulong para makawala ng pain kahit paano. Maraming salamat po.”
Neri also expressed appreciation about how media handled Chito’s decision to approach the NBI (National Bureau of Investigation) to seek help in tracking down the video uploader.
“Nung naabutan ng TV5, GMA, at ABS CBN si Chito sa pangalawang araw niya sa NBI, nirespeto nila yung paki-usap ni Chito na wag gawing big deal yung pagpunta nya doon and they responsibly reported everything as it is. Gusto ko din magpasalamat kay Mr. John Consulta sa concern na pinakita nya.
Neri also thanked Universal Records executive Kathleen Dy.
“Napakalaki po ng tulong nyo po sa amin ni Chito.”
Also on her thank you list are DMV Management (“Salamat po sa pag-unawa at pag-alalay sa akin”) and the NBI (“Kahit di pa man kami lumalapit sa inyo, inaaksyunan nyo na po agad ang kaso”).
Positive note
She ended her statement on a positive note.
“Kung pwede lang po talagang yakapin lahat ng tao na umalalay, nagpakita ng pagmamahal at support sa amin ni Chito...Maraming maraming salamat po. I am not yet ok, but I am getting there.”
Chito has already apologized for the leaked private video, which showed him and Neri in their most intimate moments.
He also claimed that someone stole the hard drive from his and Neri’s room.
