After months of auditions and weekly battles, Team Sarah's Lyca Gairanod beat her three rivals to emerge grand champion of ABS-CBN’s talent search "The Voice Kids" during the final sing-off at Resorts World Manila on Sunday, July 27.

The nine-year-old girl from Cavite impressed the public and earned the highest number of votes with her version of "Basang-basa sa Ulan" with her favorite band Aegis.

Lyca’s victory is a big help to her and family, for whom she and her mother would go scavenging to survive.

Lyca won P1 million, a one-year recording contract from MCA Universal, house and lot, a home appliance showcase, a musical instrument showcase, and a trust fund worth P1 million.

The top four finalists took on three challenges during the two-night finale, when they rendered upbeat songs and power ballads and performed with special guests.

Team Sarah's Darren Espanto, who placed second, performed "You Are My Song" with Martin Nievera. Third placer Juan Karlos Labajo from team Bamboo rendered "Eto na Naman" with Gary Valenciano; while fourth placer Darlene Vibares from Team Lea sang "You Don't Have to Say You Love Me" with Lani Misalucha.
