No reconciliation yet between Chiz Escudero, Heart Evangelista’s parents
Senator Chiz Escudero is happy for his fiancée, Heart Evangelista, who has mended fences with her parents, Rey and Cecile Ongpauco. But he himself has yet to reoncile with the Ongpaucos.
“Pagdating sa akin, darating din iyon (reconciliation). Hindi siguro dapat minamadali iyon,” Chiz said in an interview on “The Buzz” on Sunday, September 14.
Time to heal
It will be recalled that Heart’s parents accused Chiz of alcoholism and causing the family feud. And he’s letting time heal the wounds this accusation has caused.
“Papunta sa tamang direction. Hayaan natin na panahon ang makapagsabi pero at least sa parte ni Heart at ng magulang niya, maganda na ang relasyon nila.”
What’s important for him is that Heart and her parents have settled their differences.
Chiz, who is 15 years Heart’s senior, also hopes the Ongpaucos will be at his and Heart’s wedding on February 15, 2015 in Balesin.
“They gave their blessing to her and our union. Papunta doon.”
Children’s blessing
In a separate interview on “Aquino & Abunda Tonight,” Chiz shared that his children by former wife Christine Flores (their marriage was reportedly annulled in 2012) already gave their approval to the wedding.
“You’d be surprised at how mature they were. My daughter, when I asked her, ‘Anak okay ba na magpakasal si Daddy?’ (She said) ‘Kay tita Heart? Okay dad. Super okay.”
Chiz added that his twins are open to treating Heart as their mother as well.
“(They said) ‘At least may mommy kami dito, may mommy din kami pag bumibisita kami kay mommy,’” Chiz said.
