Oktaves’ Chris Padilla stunned by Ellen Adarna in new vid directed by Ely Buendia

It’s all in the lips.
Chris Padilla, vocalist/guitarist for Hilera and The Oktaves, was physically born to be a rock star. The snarl in his voice, his guitar licks, the chiseled features, the guitar hero moves, the Padilla good looks (yes, he’s related to Robin and Daniel)… and the all-important pursing of the lips.
Mick Jagger, Steven Tyler, heck, even AC/DC’s Angus Young—mother puckers all of them.

Padilla belongs in that league of the biologically gifted. It’s not calculated; they just naturally make those expressions, an extension of the music and phrase “rock & roll” that really meant sex to begin with.
Padilla’s Oktaves bandmate Ely Buendia must have recognized the pout and thought of putting them to practical use.
Ellen Adarna certainly did.
For the cancer treatments of Nitoy’s wife
Buendia directed the video for The Oktaves’ latest single “Ikot,” a slow bluesy number from their self-titled MCA debut album.
With the help of Pinoytuner, the band launched it in Craft bar with opening acts Stereodeal and the Purplechickens.
Entrance fee proceeds were allotted for the breast cancer treatments of Oktaves guitarist Nitoy Adriano’s wife Beth. It was a sobering element to a night that otherwise was filled with rousing country/rockabilly/blues/rock from the band.
Man of the hour
Padilla was Man of The Hour—especially after the video was shown.
In the vid, Padilla is bound to a chair, subtly lip-syncing with solo shots of the other band members on their respective instruments.
And then… Adarna appears in the dark, her legs practically glowing, and inches her way to Padilla, the sensuality heightened by slow motion cinematography and the song’s tempo itself.
There was no nudity and it was tastefully executed, but some scenes are probably enough to arouse an SPG rating.
Ely kept Chris Padilla in the dark
Padilla insists he did not know what Adarna was going to do… and apparently it was Buendia’s intention to get an authentic reaction from his unsuspecting bandmate.
Chris says he was told by assistant director Jason Tan that perhaps he would get a kiss on the cheek but apparently Adarna herself took things a couple notches higher.
According to Buendia’s manager Day Cabuhat even the crew’s collective jaw dropped as the seven cameras rolled.
Brushed his teeth out of respect
There was a second take and Padilla wanted to brush his teeth out of respect.
Still bound to the chair, he opted for a shot of alcohol instead. In one of the scenes, Adarna herself supplied the shot… a long streaming one from her mouth. Padilla looked helpless in the way most males fantasize about.
With no other option, Padilla continued to lip-sync… with Adarna’s that is.
The result is sensual lip-locking… or a Nat Geo special about intertwining slugs.
Very professional
Cabuhat says Adarna was very professional.
“She arrived right on schedule for the shoot. The crew panicked and scrambled to get things ready right away because she was. I guess no one was expecting her to arrive precisely on time.”
Once it was over, it was over…
Stunt doubles next time?
Padilla says he was amazed by Adarna’s attitude, how she was so cool about everything afterwards. He says this with a mixture of admiration and sheepishness.
Though he downplays the situation, he does inspire envy from his friends who joke on becoming his stunt doubles next time around.
Unfortunately, not everybody is born with a sexy pucker.
