Showbiz insiders know Rachel Ann Go’s strong spirituality drives her to attend religious-themed events. But she’s not the type who preaches when she sings or talks to the press. She sings of love, not of things divine.
But the landscape has changed. The Kapuso artist is ready to wear her spirituality on her sleeve.
“I’ve asked Kuya Ogie (Alcasid) if he can join me in a worship concert I want to produce,” she told Yahoo! Philippines OMG! minutes before she performed on stage at the star-studded awards night last Friday, July 19 at the Mall of Asia Arena.
And if a worship concert is there, a worship album can’t be far behind.
All these, because Rachel Ann sees a different purpose in her career these days.
“It’s not about the fame or money. My purpose is about what God’s plan for me is, kung saan niya ko dadalhin. Basta may ma-touch ako kahit isang tao sa kanta ko, masaya na ako.”
That’s why she wants to start a music ministry.
Rachel Ann’s joys don’t cost a thing. And they come from within.
She’s happy just staying on the beach and gazing at the stars. Jamming with her musically-inclined family chases her blues away.
“May 13-year-old akong kapatid na parang baby namin sa bahay. Ang daddy ko, komedyante at mahilig din sa music.”
Speaking of music, is she open to making beautiful music again with Christian Bautista, now that he has broken up with Carla Dunareanu?
Rachel Ann laughs and turns her back.
Okay, next question, please.
