Periscope lands on Android

Twitter has finally launched a Google-friendly version of its live video streaming app.

Just like the iOS version, users will be able to watch both live and already recorded footage and interact with broadcasters, however, the Android version also brings new features.

Notification controls are more comprehensive, and there's the welcome addition of a ‘return to broadcast' button for when a stream is interrupted by a phone call or other incoming message.

Available to download later Tuesday, the app works with any Android handset running 4.4 Kitkat onwards.
