All’s well between Regine Velasquez and Kris Aquino, who admitted “misinterpreting” statements which the former and her husband Ogie Alcasid released over the absence of President Benigno Aquino III during the arrival honors for the Special Action Force (SAF) commandos who were killed in a clash at Mamasapano, Maguindanao last January 25.

Kris unfollowed Regine and Ogie on Instagram and followed them again after she apologized and clarified the issue.

But Regine has no hard feelings towards Kris.

Case closed

“Hindi ako aware actually (about the issue). Not an issue. It’s finished. She already apologized. I couldn’t understand the whole thing. Kwinento lang sa akin ng asawa ko. Tapos na, nag-apologize naman din siya. Walang anything, walang samaan ng loob,” Regine said at the press conference of “Ultimate” concert at Luxent Hotel on Monday, February 9.

Regine said the issue didn’t affect her and she still follows Kris on Instagram.

“I really didn’t know kasi puro Barney nga pinapanuod ko. Hindi ako masyado nagi-Instagram. I am also busy with the concert. I didn’t naman unfollow her (Kris).”

Regine thinks it’s best for the nation to move forward.

P-Noy supporters

“Sa dami ng pinoproblema natin ngayon, tama na ang sisihan. Let us just pray for our President. He is going through a lot. Let us pray for the families of the fallen 44 and for our government. Maraming kailangan ayusin, hindi siguro ngayon yung time to point fingers.”

Martin Nievera, Gary Valenciano and Lani Misalucha, Regine’s fellow concert performers, also support the President.

“We the people have to stop giving our President advice. Everybody has an opinion. He’s being watched under a microscope. Without knowing enough about what’s going on in the political side, it’s very hard to give advice. Maybe there is a reason for the decisions that he makes, we don’t know. We don’t know what goes on in the President’s schedule and why he doesn’t appear when we expect him to appear, but he appears,” Martin shared.

Gary’s suggestion

Gary agrees with Martin that it’s hard to advise the President. He urges urges P-Noy to seek God’s help to guide him in his decisions and in leading the nation.

“Seek Him and His righteousness first and all of these things will be added unto you. If I’m going to give advice, seek counsel, not from too many people but to the One who has put him as the leader of the nation. No matter how difficult things have become, it’s only God who can see him through.”

Mr. Pure Energy added, “The people are angry and they have the right to be because lives are lost. But he’s also going through something.”

Lani Misalucha thinks it’s best for Filipinos to do their own share, big or small, in helping the nation.

Doing our part

“As a community, we just have to do our part in our own little ways. We can definitely contribute. Hindi naman magagawa iyan ng isang tao lang. It takes the whole nation to do something that would contribute to the nation. Hindi porket meron tayong president eh we would make buhos to him or her.”

The “Ultimate” concert will be held in Mall of Asia Arena on February 13 and 14.
