Reynaldo Rey of 'Friday' and 'White Men Can't Jump' dies

Actor Reynaldo Rey, who has more than 52 film credits to his name, died Thursday in Los Angeles at the age of 75.

His manager has confirmed his death, the result of ongoing complications one year after he suffered a stroke, Variety reports.

Memorable roles for the actor include that of Red's father in “Friday,” and “Harlem Nights” (1989), “White Men Can’t Jump” (1992), “House Party 3″ (1994) and “For Da Love of Money” (2000).

Rey's small screen appearances include “The Bernie Mac Show,” “Sanford and Son,” “The Wayans Bros.,” “227,” “The Tonight Show, “Sister, Sister,” Parents in Crime” and “The Royal Family.”

He also played co-host on BET's stand-up series "Comic View" and has three comedy albums and three videos to his name.
