Richard Gutierrez admits having a baby with Sarah Lahbati
After months of speculation, actor Richard Gutierrez finally confirmed that he and girlfriend Sarah Lahbati already have a baby.
The actor admitted at the premiere episode of the Gutierrez family’s reality TV show “It Takes Gutz to be a Gutierrez” on E! last Sunday, June 1, that he is a now a proud dad.
“They have their own speculations, stories. A lot of people think that Sarah left the country because we are having a baby and she's pregnant. I just want to set the record straight and tell everyone that I'm a proud father of baby Zion.”
Rumors about the pregnancy spread when Sarah announced that she will leave showbiz temporarily to study in Switzerland early last year. The move coincided with her legal battle against GMA Executive Annette Gozon.
“The main reason why we didn’t want to announce that I’m having a baby with Sarah was because we didn't want to make Sarah's pregnancy a tabloid circus. We get to share baby Zion with everyone in our own terms,” Richard said.
Initially scared
The actor admitted that he and Sarah were initially scared when they first found out about the pregnancy during a vacation in Paris after the teleserye “Makapiling Kang Muli” in 2012.
“How am I gonna tell my parents (Eddie Gutierrez and Annabelle Rama) ? How is Sarah gonna tell her mom and dad?” Richard recalled.
He and Sarah avoided answering questions from the press about the baby back then. Even Annabelle and Ruffa Gutierrez, Richard’s sister, didn’t admit that they have welcomed a new addition to the family.
