Ritz now the apple of Aljur's eyes?
Ritz Azul could only exclaim, "OMG!" after she received the Yahoo! OMG! Philippines award for Amazing Female Newcomer.
"Amazing! Amazing talaga! Nagpapasalamat po ako sa Yahoo! OMG!, at sa mga supporters na bumoto sa akin. Sobrang blessed ako. I want to thank God of course," she said in an exclusive interview with Yahoo! OMG! Philippines.
"Kanina nung tinanggap ko yung award na 'to sobrang nanginginig yung tuhod ko, nanginginig yung kamay ko, sobrang lamig!," she added.
For the young rising star who admitted that she actually voted for herself during the Yahoo! OMG! polls, winning the award was a big surprise, moreso, an answered prayer.
"Actually ang inexpect ko wala masyadong boboto sa akin. Feeling ko ako yung lowest. Yung manominate pa lang ako sobrang thankful na ako. Hindi ko inexpect na sobrang dami yung bumoto kasi nung nakita ko nung ako mismo, binoto ko sarili ko, mga 40+ pa lang tapos yung iba 700+ na. sabi ko "Pano kaya hahabol yung akin nito?" Tapos nagpray na lang ako kay God na siya na yung bahala."
And with less than a year of experience in the world of show business, Ritz has already been savoring the sweet rewards of her hard work. After being one of the finalists of TV5's "Star Factor" followed by her successful debut in the recently concluded primetime television show of the Kapatid network's "Mga Nagbabagang Bulaklak," Ritz is now gearing up for her first major movie. She, along with Heart Evangelista, Dennis Trillo and Carla Abellana are slated to be the cast of Studio 5's Metro Manila Film Festival entry, "Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow."
"I think this is my year!," she gushed.
Ritz captures Aljur's attention
Aside from bagging the Amazing Newcomer award, Ritz seemed to have captivated hunk actor Aljur Abrenica's attention during the Yahoo! OMG! awards night.
Many noticed that the two were inseparable that night. And with both of them Kapampangan, their budding friendship is off to a good start.
In a message sent exclusively to Yahoo! OMG! Philippines via sms, Ritz described her first meeting with the Kapuso star and dismissed rumors that she is now the apple of Aljur's eyes.
"Yes, it was my first time to meet him. Sobra naman yung apple of the eye. Hindi naman ganun. He was very nice to me. And being a newcomer na hindi pa sanay sa mga showbiz events, I am happy na parang inalalayan din ako ni Aljur," she said.
