Should he run for president in 2016, Davao City mayor Rodrigo Duterte has one strong supporter in action star Robin Padilla.

That’s because Robin likes Duterte’s pro-federalism views,  which rests on the concept of power sharing between national and provincial governments.

Aetas of Pampanga

Robin’s heart goes out to the Aetas of Pampanga.

He also feels strongly for innocent civilians caught in the Mamasapano clash that felled 44 SAF (Special Action Force) commandos last January 25.

‘Comedy sa Senado’

“Dapat sila ang intindihin natin. Wala silang kinalaman dito pero apektado sila. Kung dapat may pinapansin, sila yon.”

Are these political views a sign that Robin will finally give in to offers for him to run for public office?

Robin’s answer remains the same.

He knows showbiz is a lot more stress-free than politics.  And he can earn money by doing something he loves with all his heart -- acting.

Most of all, Robin can share his blessings with the needy if and when he wants -- without an approaching election season to think of.
