Robin vents his wrath at Aljur Abrenica

Although he's been very vocal in denouncing issue including the pork misuse and Zamboanga crisis, Robin Padilla vows never to enter politics.

A father's wrath knows no bounds.  Robin Padilla is also hurting over the fact that his daughter’s former boyfriend, Aljur Abrenica, broke her heart by ending their relationship.

So Robin advised her: “Humanap ka ng barakong Pilipino.”

Kylie’s response

Kylie’s answer is just as provocative.

“ Oo daw,  pipilitin niya,” Robin relates at the presscon of TV5’s “Jasmine,” where  he plays a former hotshot police officer who turns to alcohol.

Robin’s heart goes out to Kylie, who admits she has yet to move on after the breakup.

He asked her,  “Ikaw ba ay inapi?”

Kylie said no, so Robin let it go at that.

This might as well be the end of the discussion for Robin, who insisted that giving his opinion on the failed relationship won’t amount to anything.

“Sisikat pa ang ibang tao.  Sinaktan na nga nya ang anak ko.”

Another issue that makes Robin’s blood pressure rise is the exclusion of Nora Aunor in this year’s list of National Artists.

“Mali yon.  Elitista ang gobyerno.  Hindi dapat kumapit ang kultura ng pelikulang Pilipino Pilipino sa kultura ng mga politician.”

Robin spoke for many showbiz people when he said,   “Bayani natin si Ate Guy (Nora). Walang artista sa Pilipinas ang nagbigay ng ganoong klaseng pagmamahal sa sining. Sino ang may pinakamaraming pelikula at parangal sa ibang bansa?”

On with the fight

As for the morality issue raised against Nora, Robin shoots back, “Santo ba natin ito?”

He is willing to fight for Nora and continue his crusade not only for the next three years that the current panel of experts in charge of the National Artist Awards is in office, but beyond that.

“Kailangan magpaliwanag sa ating mahal na pangulo na (dapat) hands off siya sa showbiz at sa sining pangkultura,”  Robin, whose family is in the running for Yahoo Celebrity 2014 Celebrity Family of the Year,  adds.

On a brighter note, the action star is excited over his Metro Manila entry, “Bonifacio,” where he plays the founder of the Katipunan.

Bonifacio movie

Robin has put all his movies on hold for “Bonifacio,” which its producers say will show a different view of the national hero which hasn’t been tackled in past films.

“Mahirap na pelikula ito.  We will start shooting in September,” says Robin, who, as an Islam, is taking a break from work in observance of  Ramadan.

“Jasmine,” which topbills Jasmine Curtis-Smith, is a love mystery drama which airs Sundays, 5 p.m.  Replays are aired at 10 p.m., also on Sunday.
