Senator Bong Revilla Jr. and his 'Agimat'

Senator Bong Revilla Jr. is confident “Si Agimat, si Enteng at Si Ako” will do well in the MMFF 2012 box office compared to other films in competition this year.

Bata ang kasama nating sumusuporta sa pelikula, buong pamilya”, he said during the GMA-7 Trade Launch event held recently.

But is the senator aiming for another kind of recognition, an MMFF Best Actor nod maybe?

The senator also hints that his “Agimat” persona might return in MMFF 2013 - or will it really?

“‘Agimat’, o ‘Panday,’ or Indio’ the movie... Surprise!” he quipped.

Support for Jolo

Bong is also excited for GMA-7’s upcoming drama “Indio,” which co-stars stars Jennylyn Mercado and Rhian Ramos.  The show will be Bong’s first foray in primetime soap operas.

“Alam mo naman ako, I never settle for good. I only settle for best. I think this TV series is one of the best,” he said of his TV show.

But with election season nearing, will he still have time for his son Jolo Revilla who's running for Vice Governor of Cavite next year?

“The way I look at it, kaya na niya e. Yun ang training ko sa kanila e, na wag umasa sa akin, tumayo ka sa sarili mong paa and I’m sure you can handle it,” Bong said.

But even though Bong believes Jolo can stand on his own, he added he’s still there to help.

“Hindi ko siya pwedeng pabayaan. Kahit anong pagod ko, kahit anong puyat ko, babangon ako to help and support my son,” he said.

His new year's resolution

The actor-politician who was involved in a number of controversies years back shared that he is now a changed man.

He also revealed the secret to his successful career as an actor and politician.
