Seoul International Drama Awards 2013 starts online voting

[by Joy Kim] On July 4, Seoul Drama Awards Organizing Committee announced the start of online voting for three categories; People\'s Choice, Outstanding Korean Drama Prize and Outstanding Korean OST.  

2013 Seoul International Drama Awards’ nominees include drama and stars from Korea, China, Japan and Taiwan. People\'s Choice award will be selected through the online voting. The voting will be available on Korean portal website,, a mobile application ‘mypeople’, and 

Outstanding candidates from Korea, China, Japan, and Taiwan are competing for the People’s Choice award. Actor Lee Min Ho (\'The Great Doctor\'), Lee Jun Ki (\'The Tale of Arang)\' and Song Joong Gi (\'The Innocent Man\') are candidates from Korea. On the nominees list, the best actors from China, Chen Daoming (\'King\'s War\') and Nicky Wu (\'Chinese Detective\'), Sakai Masato(\'Legal High\') from Japan and Yin Hsin (\'Are You Christine?)’ from Taiwan are included. will host online voting for Outstanding Korean Drama Prize. The prize winner will be selected by combination of the results from online voting (70%) and SDA Organizing Committee\'s evaluation (30%). 

For the Outstanding Korean Drama Prize, 13 dramas are competing for the category. The nominees are Korean dramas that have been exported to more than 15 countries or made more than 3 million dollars of exports during the past year. Currently,  The competing dramas include ‘Big’ (KBS), ‘The Gu Family Book’(MBC), and ‘That Winter, The Wind Blows’(SBS). 

For the Outstanding Korean OST, over 26 songs are competing. The nominees include JYJ’s member XIA’s \'Love is Like Snow\' (The Innocent Man / KBS)’, Girls Generation’s leader Taeyeon’s And One (That Winter, The Wind Blows / SBS) and solo artist Baek Ji Young’s \'Spring Rain\' (The Gu Family Book / MBC).  

Meanwhile, SDA 2013 has broken a record again with the largest number of submissions: a total of 225 dramas submitted from 48 countries. Some of the well-known entries include the Golden Globe and Emmy Award winners, \'Homeland 2\' and \'House 8\' from the United States, famous British period drama \'Downton Abbey 3\', Sweden\'s \'Real Humans\' and China\'s \'King\'s War\'.
