Web series 'L.A. Beer' to be filmed in front of live audience

The new Web series "L.A. Beer" will be taped in front of a live studio audience

The soon-to-be-launched series "L.A. Beer" is forgoing canned laughter as it is set to be the first-ever web series filmed in front of a live audience, reports Variety.

Set in a microbrewery, the workplace comedy follows a group of beer aficionados and brewers in a fast-growing industry.

Starring in the cast are Sam Daly, Ariana Ortiz, Kevin High, Alicia Ying, James Lontayao and Sarah Stoeker.

"L.A. Beer" was funded via crowdsourcing site Kickstarter, which allowed the team to produce the show for a fraction of the price compared to a network sitcom, said the show's executive producer, Sam Miller.

The series will premiere with five episodes on YouTube beginning May 11 and five more in June. The installments are timed with American Craft Beer Week and LA Beer Week, respectively.
