Sharon plays Cupid to Zsa Zsa and Conrad
Add matchmaking, aside from singing, acting and hosting, to Sharon Cuneta’s list of talents. " Philippine Daily Inquirer" Lifestyle Editor Thelma Sioson San Juan's column says it was the Megastar who connected her friend Zsa Zsa Padilla and her current flame, renowned architect Conrad Onglao, to each other.
Sharon asked Conrad, whose marriage to interior designer Ivy Almario is annulled, if she can set him up with her friend. She didn’t tell Conrad she had Zsa Zsa in mind.
Tired of mourning
In the Inquirer interview, Zsa Zsa said her answer to Sharon’s attempt at playing Cupid was “Yes, I’m tired of mourning (referring to her late partner, Comedy King Dolphy).”
After getting their approval, Sharon forwarded Zsa Zsa and Conrad’s celphone numbers to each other. The two then set the blind date themselves in a Makati restaurant one Sunday.
Zsa Zsa and Conrad obviously liked each other instantly. Otherwise, the dinner wouldn’t have stretched for three hours.
Market date
The next day, Zsa Zsa told Sharon she felt at ease with Conrad but was unsure about the “sparks.”
But the two slowly became more sure of their feelings as days passed. The exchange of text messages continued.
That first meeting was followed by another one two days after, and yet another that weekend. By then, Zsa Zsa and Conrad were already seen holding hands at the Legaspi market.
Conrad took Zsa Zsa to the market because “I’ve always believed that if you wanted to know the woman, bring her to the market.”
Holding hands
Again, Conrad liked what he saw. The two were holding hands when they watched Gary Valenciano’s concert the Big Dome on Saturday, April 12.
"I am very inspired," Zsa Zsa told TV Patrol.
Three days later, her Instragram post answered the questions on her followers' minds. Zsa Zsa posted a photo of a couple holding hands, their backs away from the camera. Zsa Zsa’s post also displayed the lyrics of The Carpenter’s popular love song, “You.”
Simple and selfless
Conrad adores Zsa Zsa no end. He told 'Inquirer' that he finds her simple and selfless.
Zsa Zsa, for her part, loves it that Conrad “is good to me” and treats her well.
Seems Cupid’s arrows are right on target again.
