Sheen & Lohan for "Scary Movie 5"

10 Aug – Two of Hollywood most-talked about fallen stars, Golden Globe nominee Charlie Sheen and "Freaky Friday" star Lindsay Lohan, are confirmed to be making their appearance in Malcolm Lee's "Scary Movie 5", according to Examiner.com.

Following "High School Musical" actress Ashley Tisdale's yes to playing a ballerina in Lee's upcoming directorial two months ago, Lohan is set to join the latest instalment of the horror comedy parody movie franchise, which started 12 years ago for the first time, whereas Sheen, the youngest son of Golden Globe Award winner Martin Sheen, who recently starred as Uncle Ben in "The Amazing Spider-Man", will return to the film series for the third time after playing Tom Logan in the two previous "Scary Movie" sequels.

However, it was reported that "Scary Movie" regular, Anna Faris, is expected not to return for the fifth film, which by now consist of Pamela Anderson, Ashley Tisdale, Erica Ash, Cloris Leachman and Carmen Electra.

Despite being criticized for its tasteless and exasperating humour, the "Scary Movie" franchise managed to gross $800 million at the worldwide box office. Rumours have it that the new film will feature spoofs about "127 Hours", "Black Swan", "Paranormal Activity" and "Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes".

Lohan will next be seen in "Liz And Dick", a television movie about the relationship between the late Elizabeth Taylor and Welsh actor Richard Burton.

"Scary Movie 5" is expected for release in cinemas in April 2013.
