SHINee’s Minho as Kang Tae Joon, the Star High Jumper in ‘To the Beautiful You’
An official look at SHINee’s Minho in character for his upcoming drama has been revealed.
In the upcoming SBS drama To the Beautiful You, Minho plays Kang Tae Joon, a high school athlete with a slightly cold character but with a remarkable talent in high jumping.
Sporting athletic wear inside a school gym, Minho makes a full transformation into his character as he checks the crossbar, measures the height with his arm and makes a successful leap over the bar.
Though Minho has previously displayed his athleticism in variety shows such as KBS’ Dream Team 2, to improve and perfect his high jump for his role, Minho received special coaching from the Korea Athletics Federation’s Kim Tae Young coach.
Once more, the people who witnessed Minho’s jumps were all surprised as he even cleared a 1.8m jump.
A source from the drama’s production shared, “It’s no understatement to say that Minho is living as To the Beautiful You’s Kang Tae Joon. Minho is deeply engrossed in, and carefully studying his character while ceaselessly practicing his acting and high jumping.”
In To the Beautiful You, the young Koo Jae Hee (Sulli) disguises herself as a male to join the all-male physical education high school of Kang Tae Joon in order to meet the gold medalist high jumper.
The drama is scheduled to premiere on SBS in August.
