SHINHWA succeeds in fully recovering their trademark rights
SHINHWA succeeded in fully recovering their trademark rights.
On May 29th, SHINHWA's managment agency, SHINCOM Entertainment, wrote on the company's official website that they have fully recovered the trademark rights of SHINHWA.
They wrote, "We are very happy to announce this news to everyone. SHINHWA and SHINCOM Entertainment had to come through a long dispute together, and we are going to do our best for SHINHWA's greater future."
They also wrote, "We would like to express our profound gratitude to many fans for their colossal love and supports once again, and our company will keep giving our best supports for SHINHWA's successful career. We hope that everyone would keep showing the same supports for SHINHWA in the future as well."
On May 27th, representatives of K-Pop idol group SHINHWA's management agency, SHINCOM Entertainment (previously known as SHINHWA Company), and JUN Media (previously known as Open World Entertainment) attended a mediation that was held at Seoul High Court, and accepted the mediation plan issued by the justice department of Korea.
As both companies failed to resolve the trademark rights issue last month, the justice department had ordered a compulsory arbitration to both companies. However, SHINCOM Entertainment made an objection to the order, and the two companies decided to accept the mediation plan issued by the justice department during the mediation that was held on May 27th.
The mediation plan issued by the Seoul High Court supports complete cession of SHINHWA's trademark rights from JUN Entertainment to SHINCOM Entertainment, and this will allow SHINHWA to change the name of their management agency back to SHINHWA Company.
Meanwhile, SHINHWA is going to hold a solo concert in Nanjing, China on June 20th.
