Following a number of high-profile Hollywood acting and directing roles, the British stage and screen talent's latest venture, the Kenneth Brangah Theatre Company, sees him return to his roots, making London's Garrick Theatre his and his company's home from October.

Its first production, "The Winter's Tale," will star Judi Dench alongside Branagah, and actors including Lily James and Richard Madden are also scheduled to appear in future plays planned over the company's first 12 months of residency.

Speaking to the BBC, Sir Kenneth, who most recently directed Disney's live-action "Cinderella," said "I wanted to have a place and a space, and a building, in which to create a season of work."

"The Winter's Tale" will open on October 17 and run until January 2016. Productions of Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet' and of John Osborne's "The Entertainer" are also planned.
