SNSD Sets New Record in Japan by Topping Oricon Chart
Girls’ Generation (SNSD) set another new record in Japan.
SNSD’s Japanese best album The Best, released on July 23, has ranked number one on Oricon’s weekly chart, following the daily chart, proving the girls’ popularity in Japan.
In addition to topping Oricon’s weekly chart with its first full length album Girls’ Generation released in 2011 and the third full length album Love & Peace released in 2013, this is the third time that SNSD has topped Oricon’s weekly chart.
This is the first time a non-Japanese girl group from Asia has ever achieved this feat.
The album contains a total of 18 tracks, including hits Genie, Gee, Mr. Taxi, Galaxy Supernova, Beep Beep, Paparazzi, Flower Power as well as the Japanese version of Mr. Mr, a new ballad song Indestructible and more.
