Spring/Summer 2015: 5 floral fragrances to try

As the days get longer and warmer, spring and summer perfumes of floral aromas have begun to fill the air. Though timeless, this olfactory trend is revisited every year with new perfumes. Here are five floral fragrances to try this summer.

Aromatics in White by Clinique

The house of Clinique is offering a floral chypre for summer with its latest fragrance, Aromatics in White. Based on Aromatics Elixir, released more than four decades ago, this version is more modern and feminine than the original scent, luring with tart notes of Sichuan pepper, elegant violet leaves and labdanum on top, and leading to floral shades of roses and orange blossom and patchouli. At the base you'll find leather musk intertwined with grey amber, benzoin and vanilla.

The fragrance is available as 30ml 50ml and 100ml Eau de Parfum.

Ostara by Penhaligon's

The famous perfume house has chosen to celebrate spring with 0stara, a scent based on the daffodil. A concoction by master perfumer Bertrand Duchaufour, the fragrance blends notes of juniper, violet leaf absolute and mint to extracts of aldehydes, currant, clementine and narcissus absolute. Base notes combine styrax resin, vanilla, benzoin, musk, amber and blond wood.

The fragrance is available as 50ml and 100ml Eau de Toilette.

Si Belle by See By Chloé

Developed by celebrated noses Louise Turner and Nathalie Cetto, this is undoubtedly the most girly of the spring/summer floral fragrances. Top notes include neroli and birch leaf while the heart is dominated by gardenia and orange blossom. The whole rests on a base of white musk. The girly character comes mostly from the bottle's iconic birdcage design, whose transparence reveals the rose liquid inside.

The fragrance is available as 30, 50 and 75 ml Eau de Parfum.

Flower by Kenzo L'Eau Originelle by Kenzo

Kenzo has imagined a fresh new version of its iconic Flower By Kenzo, first released in 2000. It is inspired by the rare white poppy flower. Signed Alberto Morillas, the fragrance opens with a fresh mixture of aquatic accords and ginger flower. The peony rules the heart of the composition, while the base features a gentle and sensual cloud of white musk. As with the original bottle, the design is directly inspired by the poppy.

The fragrance is available as 30 and 50 ml Eau de Toilette.

Acqua Di Gioia Jasmine by Giorgio Armani

Offered exclusively as a limited edition starting June 1, the Italian brand presents Acqua di Gioia Jasmine, a fragrance of jasmine that pays homage to nature and woman. It opens with essences of green apple, violet leaf, lemon and bitter green galbanum. The heart includes water jasmine and "Jasmine MD Absolute". Musk, brown sugar and cedar end the composition.

The fragrance is available as 30, 50 and 100 ml Eau de Parfum.
