Sunshine Cruz gets full custody of children

Sunshine Cruz vows to work hard for her three daughters

Months after their legal battle, Sunshine Cruz was granted full custody of her three daughters by estranged husband Cesar Montano.

Her legal counsel, Atty. Carlo Bonifacio Alentajan informed Yahoo! Philippines OMG! of this development through a text message.

Visitation rights

"Her husband is entitled to visitation rights. The best interests and welfare of all three daughters of Sunshine were the basis of the Honorable Court's decision," Alentajan said.

It will be recalled that Sunshine accused Cesar of violating Republic Act 9262, also known as Law for the Protection of Women and Children.

Cesar denied the accusations.

"Mawala na ang lahat huwag lang ang anak ko. Napakasakit sa akin kasi I have been a devoted wife and devoted mother to my children. Sinakripisyo ko nga ang lahat para maalagaan ko ng mabuti ang mga anak ko," Sunshine said.

Prior to the court's decision, Sunshine and Cesar shared custody of their daughters. Cesar’s lawyer Joel Ferrer told Yahoo! Philippines OMG that the couple has “faithfully complied with the arrangement," wherein the children spend three days each with Cesar and Sunshine.

Doing well

Alentajan shared that Sunshine and her daughters are doing well.

"The mom and daughters are thrilled to spend more quality and loving times with each other."

Sunshine, who stars in the afternoon teleserye “Galema,” vows to work hard for her family. She constantly updates her social media followers with photos of her and her daughters.

Cesar’s camp, on the other hand, said the actor would rather keep his reactions on the issue to himself.
