Toy action cam lets kids shoot their pint-sized stunts

The Kidizoom Action Cam is designed for kids aged five to 12

Like so many other tech items that have become a hit with adults, the GoPro-style action camcorder is now available in a dedicated kid-friendly version. Tech toy specialist VTech has just launched the Kidizoom Action Cam, an all-terrain point-of-view shooter for kids aged five to 12.

Now those aged five and up can record their stunts from a kid's eye view with the Kidizoom Action Cam, which comes with a range of mounts for scooters, skateboards and bikes.

Shockproof, of course, the device also comes with a waterproof case, allowing kids to film underwater at depths of up to two meters (6.5 feet).

A color screen displays a live feed during video filming. The Kidizoom Action Cam operates with rechargeable batteries and can also be used to take stills.

VTech also supplies built-in editing software, which offers the possibility to customize photos with various photo frames and filters. Files are transferred to a PC via an included micro USB cable.

The VTech Kidizoom Action Cam is available in select European countries for €69 and will launch early this summer in the US at a suggested retail price of $59.99.
