While TV5 president and CEO Noel Lorenzana reports that the Kapatid network grew by 10 percent in 2014, the station also lost three of its big stars within the year.

Aga Muhlach didn’t renew his contract last March, while Nora Aunor and Sharon Cuneta left TV5 late this year.

Lorenzana feels sad over Sharon’s sudden departure from the network since “may pinagsamahan din kami.”

Nora Aunor''s sentiments

“In the end, in every endeavor you go through, you have to work for a win-win situation. All entities will find their future. I think things will turn out well.”

Wilma Galvante, head of TV5’s entertainment division, on the other hand, thinks Nora’s heart was more into indie films.

“I saw this in the course of her contract. Gusto muna ni Ate Guy na magpelikula. Nung nag-expire ang ang contract nya, hindi na kami nakapag-usap for renewal.”

As for Aga, Galvante said the network did not renew his contract because of “reprogramming that’s gonna happen.”

Business decision on Aga

It was a “business decision,” and TV5 opted to offer Aga program contracts for 2014 which he didn’t accept.

“We respect that. Ang usapan namin, pag may maayos and solid na progams for Aga, we will sit down,” Galvante added.
