Twitch clarifies adults-only game ban on an international level

After banning the streaming of adults-only games, Twitch explained further about how the ban applies to countries outside the US.

Games that are given an adults-only, or AO rating in the US, would not be allowed under the new rules, Twitch explained to PC Gamer.

However, if it's a game that's been given an AO rating abroad but not in the US, such as the "Witcher 3," it is permitted.

Games given "Mature" ratings such as "Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas" and "Fahrenheit: Indigo Prophecy" are permitted.

Twitch had previously explained in an editor's note that games rated 18+ are acceptable, however, AO games are not.

Ratings are handled by the Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB).
