Football is causing a buzz on Twitter on Monday, August 5, as the future of Manchester United's Rooney and Real Madrid's Ronaldo come up for debate.
English footballer Wayne Rooney, who plays for the Premier League club Manchester United, is once again the subject of transfer rumors after it emerged that rival Premier League team Chelsea had bid €34 million (£30 million / $46 million) for the player.
This is the second bid that Manchester United have rejected for Rooney, however despite rejecting the bid Rooney's future remains unclear after he allegedly expressed dissatisfaction with playing there and was rumored to have submitted a transfer request.
On a related note Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo has also been the subject of transfer speculation after it emerged that the former Manchester United player was the subject of rumors of a transfer back to his old club.
However earlier Monday it was reported that Ronaldo has signed a new five-year deal worth around €86 million(£75 million / $115 million) with his current club, a deal that could theoretically see him end his prime playing career at the Spanish club.
