UnionPay card becomes the golden ticket to the Met
China-based UnionPay International announced Monday that holders of their credit cards will be able to visit New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art free of charge starting on June 1.
A UnionPay card starts with the number 62.
So far, the offer is expected to last until May 31, 2016 and the Met is the latest of several museums to offer free admission to UnionPay card holders.
The Metropolitan Museum of Art is one of the most popular tourist destinations in New York and over 6.2 visitors flocked in from China, the largest group of foreign visitors.
Under normal circumstances, admission to the Met costs $25.
