Upcoming video games: 'Neverwinter,' 'Toukiden: Kiwami,' 'Story of Seasons'

"Neverwinter" has the advantage of official Dungeons & Dragons licensing

"Neverwinter" mines Dungeons & Dragons lore as it arrives on Xbox One, "Story of Seasons" aims to please fans of the "Harvest Moon" series on 3DS, and monster battling "Toukiden: Kiwami" gets an appreciable upgrade upon rerelease for PlayStation 4, Vita and PSP.

With two years of testing on PC under its belt, the adventuring MMO based on popular fantasy world "Dungeons & Dragons" comes to Xbox One. As with its PC sibling, "Neverwinter" is free to play (for Xbox Live Gold subscribers). A PlayStation 4 edition is expected to follow.

MLB 15: The Show (PS3 PS4 Vita)
International: March 31

Second time out on the PS4 and "MLB 15" is to focus on player personality, integration of 30 legends of the game, and more realism in terms of spectator reaction and presence of licensed goods. It retains the same voice-over team from "MLB 14": Fox Sports' Matt Vasgersian and Eric Karros, NESN's Steve Lyons, and Mike Carlucci of the LA Dodgers, whose pitcher Yasiel Puig is cover star.

Toukiden: Kiwami (PS4 Vita)
North America: March 31
European regions: March 27
Japan: since August 2014

An upgrade of the team-based monster-hunting game that was made by the studio behind "Samurai Warriors" and well received back in 2013 and 2014. This Kiwami edition ups the numbers of Oni to hunt, adds extra gear, new abilities, two more characters, and fleshes out the story a little more. The PS4 and Vita versions feature cross-play multiplayer.

Story of Seasons (3DS)
North America: March 31
Japan: since February 2014

Part of the overall "Harvest Moon" franchise and building on "Harvest Moon: A New Beginning" -- but released without that series' prefix in North America -- players set up as farmers in a small village and work together with three other freeholders in order to create thriving and successfull businesses. Europe has "Harvest Moon: The Lost Valley" to look forward to instead.
