Vin Abrenica and Sophie Albert bag ‘Artista Academy’ top honors

Vin Abrenica and Sophie Albert were named Best Actor and Best Actress respectively in TV5’s reality-based talent search “Artista Academy” during its grand finals held at Smart Araneta Coliseum on Saturday, October 27.

Vin and Sophie impressed critics Lorna Tolentino, Gelli De Belen, “Artista Academy” Principal Wilma Galvante and TV5 Talent Center head Direk Mac Alejandre in their acting, singing and dancing challenges.

Vin, initially known during the contest as Aljur Abrenica’s younger brother, tried to veer away from the latter’s shadow and proved he can do it on his own. He bested out finalists Akihiro Blanco and Mark.

Sophie, whose family hails from Tarlac, is a niece of Kris Aquino and Mikee Cojuangco. Sophie beat Chanel Morales and Shaira Mae in the reality search.
