Watch the first trailer of Ryan Reynolds' 'Deadpool'
The hotly anticipated first trailer for Ryan Reynolds’ film “Deadpool” premiered on “Conan” Tuesday, filled with blood, guts, and zingy one-liners from the snarky but tormented antihero.
In the three-minute teaser, viewers learn the backstory of Deadpool. When Wade Wilson is diagnosed with cancer in several major organs, he agrees to take on superpowers in exchange for a second chance at life.
The transformation is torturous and disfiguring, however.
Or, as a friend points out in the trailer: ““You look like Freddy Kruger face-f—ed a topographical map of Utah.”
On second thought, he adds: “You look like an avocado had sex with an older avocado.”
When previewed at Comic-Con in July, the film received a standing ovation from attendees, who’ve been eagerly awaiting the new trailer.
"Deadpool" hits theaters February 12, 2016.
