What's the cause of Lian-Paolo separation?
Lian Paz used to deny that a third party tore her two-year marriage to Paolo Contis apart. But now that Paolo went to the home they used to share to get his things, Lian seems to be singing a different tune.
“Noon sa presscon, umaasa pa ako. Sino ba namang asawa ang ilalalag ang sariling asawa? ” Lian explained why she denied the presence of a third party.
“But now, I’m neither confirming it,” she told Yahoo! Philippines OMG! over the phone.
Lian added that their children, Xonia Aitania, two and Xalene Abriana, one, saw their dad pack his belongings and leave.
Lian says her daughter, Xonia asked, “Mama, where’s Papa?”
The question, took Lian by surprise.
“Nagulat ako kasi never 'yon nagsalita talaga. And then, all of a sudden, parang may sixth sense.”
The little girl, added Lian, also couldn’t sleep well.
“Parang alam niya ang nangyayari,” Lian surmised.
Lian had to answer Xonia’s question with a lie.
“I told Xonia her dad is at work,” Lian said.
The former EB (Eat Bulaga) Babe added that her very young children are not yet ready for the truth.
“Mahirap ang sitwasyon. Saka na lang pag malaki na sila.”
Lian doesn’t want the kids to see their dad that often because she believes it will cause them more pain.
This is why she told Paolo not to expect so much when he informed her he will get in touch with her regarding when he can visit the children.
“Ayoko masanay mga bata na padalaw dalaw siya. Mahirap e. Minsan nandito siya, next time, wala. Nakakaawa.”
Financial support
The new single mom plans to ask Paolo for financial support for the sake of their children. Otherwise, “pwedeng dumating sa legal matters.”
“Maawa naman siya. Mas maliit ang kinikita ko sa kanya,” Lian said.
After “Enchanted Garden”, Lian says there are no showbiz offers so far.
Thus, Lian only relies on her work as media relations officer for Full Circle Communications to tide her and her family over.
Despite everything, Lian would rather move on.
“Nagpapaka-busy na lang ako sa trabaho. At mabuti nangyari ito ng maaga, habang bata pa ako.”
She is just as glad her mom is there to take care of the children while she’s at work. That way, she has peace of mind while she’s away from home.
How Lian copes with the situation
Lian reveals her faith is sustaining her through her bitter ordeals.
“I am keeping my faith in God. What had happened to me was really traumatic. Paolo's decision is his own decision that is hard to forgive but easy to understand. I draw strength from God and my kids everyday and
I believe that time heals, so for now, I am doing the best that I can to survive and raise my kids well.”
Lian also has a wish for Paolo.
“I hope that someday when he will again make an effort to win a woman's heart, he must also know how to keep her. I am a very transparent person which is the very opposite attribute of Paolo. I don't ask a lot... I just want to be loved. naku, hopeless romantic po ako sobra, hahaha! I believe in simple and cute dates, love letters at kung anu ano pa pong kabaduyan.”
Her regret?
“Sa sinasabi niyang matagal niyang pinagisipan ang naging decision niya, hahaha! siya lang ang nakakaalam. Sana man lang na inform ako ng maaga para napaghandaan ko.”
