After Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera treated the public to a display of wedding extravagance, the Kapuso royal couple is enjoying a quiet, but equally grand honeymoon—not once, but twice.

Tim Yap shared a few snaps of the first #DongYanHoneymoon from the island of Boracay. The events and TV host said he loves being the newlyweds’ third wheel during the postscript of their historic December 30 wedding.

Marian’s Spanish father, Francisco Javier Gracia Alonso, also joined the couple’s Boracay trip. In a previous interview, the 30-year-old GMA-7 actress said they will spend New Year’s Day with her dad before he goes back to Spain.

The celebrity couple will then go to Rome for their second honeymoon. In an Instagram post, Marian shared a picture of the Colosseum with #DongYanWedding as hashtag—suggesting that the 2,000-year-old amphitheater will be part of their itinerary.

Everything grand

Dingdong and Marian got hitched in lavish rites on December 30 at the Immaculate Conception Cathedral in Cubao, Quezon City.

The so-called wedding of the year for 2014 was attended by 600-800 guests at the church alone. The couple enlisted 20 pairs of principal sponsors, 18 pairs of groomsmen and bridesmaids, as well as 25 secondary sponsors.

A total of 15 clergymen (8 bishops and 7 priests) celebrated the wedding.

The reception at the Mall of Asia Arena followed the ceremony. The popular concert and sports venue was transformed into a palace where the Kapuso royal couple treated guests to sumptuous dishes prepared by Chef Gaita Fores and a 12-foot wedding cake worth P7 million.

The 3D cake, which took one month to prepare, is poised to challenge the record-holder for the world's largest wedding cake made by the Mohegan Sun Hotel and Casino in Connecticut.
