Why Judy Ann won’t play Aguinaldo’s first wife

Judy Ann Santos doesn’t want people to think there’s something more than meets the eye in her rejection of the role of Hilaria Aguinaldo, Emilio Aguinaldo’s first wife in ER Ejercito’s production of “El Presidente, the Emilio Aguinaldo Story.”

It’s just that she can’t relate to her character since  Judy Ann would rather play someone she can observe and see in the flesh.

Kasi hindi na naman siya buhay,” she said at the presscon sponsored by Kraft for Eden Cheese, which Judy Ann and daughter Yohan are endorsing.

Judy Ann admits she can’t relate to the character because she doesn’t know Hilaria personally. And because of this, she might not do justice to the role.

Perhaps, she adds, another actress would fit the role more and make the film a lot more beautiful.

Judy Ann hopes people won’t see her decision as a personal affront to ER.

“I have nothing against ER,” she reveals.

Projects

Judy Ann has other things to focus on this year. An adult counterpart of the just-concluded “Junior Master Chef" is in the works. A movie with Coco Martin and another one with John Lloyd Cruz are being planned this year.

But Judy Ann would rather do things one step at a time, now that she is a mother.

Judy Ann also wants to teach Yohan the games she and husband Ryan Agoncillo used to play, like “patintero”, “habulan” and ”agawan base” because children their age don’t know them anymore.

Wala kaming keber kung madumihan man kami.”

She is enjoying motherhood so much Judy Ann doesn’t mind regaining the pounds she lost if she gets pregnant again.

“Gusto ko three kids. Okay lang mabuntis (uli) at kung tumaba, di magpapayat uli,” she relates.
