Worldwide box office: 'Avengers: Age of Ultron' crushes the competition

Moviegoers continue to flock to the latest film in Marvel's "Avengers" franchise, released in the US on May 1. With $355 million in revenues, the superhero movie clearly dominated the global box office for the weekend of May 3.

"Avengers: Age of Ultron" held onto first place at the global box office and widened its already significant lead over "Furious 7," which grossed $59.9 million over the period.

In third place, the Chinese film "Silent Separation" took in $28 million.
