Love has turned rocker chick Yeng Constantino into a softie.

Ganoon pala kapag in love,” Yeng said in an interview at the Yahoo! OMG! Awards in the Mall of Asia Arena on Friday, July 19.

The guy – her first boyfriend – is worship director Victor ‘Yan’ Asuncion, and Yeng expects him to be there when she performs with Bamboo in “BY Request,” a concert at Smart Araneta Coliseum on August 17.

Now that she’s inspired, it won’t be surprising if Yeng comes up with happier, more mushy songs in her next album.

Sa schedule mo the whole day, magtext lang siya ng ‘I miss you, I love you.’ Sobrang nakaka-boost talaga siya ng lakas,” she said.

The singer-songwriter is all praise for her boyfriend.

Yung joy and security andoon.”

No fear

Yeng revealed that Yan had qualms about her decision to announce their relationship in social media.

Parang kinakabahan siya, tinatanong niya, ‘Love, healthy ba iyon for your career?

She added that she posted their photos to show Yan how she loves him. To her delight, the fans supported her.

Yeng hopes she can inspire young people to be patient when it comes to love.

“We pray na maraming bata na mainspire na talagang darating 'yung time na mai-in love ka na ‘This is it.’ To wait for the right person to come.”

Concert with Bamboo

Meanwhile, Yeng is excited to perform with Bamboo in “BY Request.”

She refuses to entertain negative thoughts about the show.
