Zoren on Carmina's move to ABS-CBN: It will make us grow

Zoren Legaspi think it’s better that he and partner Carmina Villaroel work in different networks.

In an interview with the press during TV5's “Sugod Mga Kapatid sa Sinulog 2012” last week  in Cebu City, the 39-year-old actor said he first tried to convince Carmina to join the Kapatid network. However, Zoren realized they need to work apart in order to grow.

“Nung una, gusto ko sya dito (TV5). Ineengganyo ko sya. Pero napagisip-isip ko na mas maiging hiwalay kami so we can both grow,” Zoren shared.

Carmina signed a contract with ABS-CBN on Monday, January 16. Zoren stars in the primetime show “Glamorosa” and co-hosts the showbiz-oriented talk show “Paparazzi: Showbiz Exposed” on TV5.

The two were both GMA-7 artists and co-hosted the morning talk show “Love ni Mister, Love ni Misis.” It was here  where Zoren realized they need to move out of their comfort zone to grow as artists.

Although that’s also good, but if you want to grow—kasi sa bahay, kayo na ang magkasama e.

But if you want to grow, kailangan umalis ka sa circle na yun. Kailangan mong lumabas.”

Goals

What more do they want to achieve in their careers?

In previous interviews, Zoren said Carmina’s move to ABS-CBN is prompted by her desire to focus on doing heavy drama and more movies.

As for himself, the “Glamorosa” star wants to be a film producer and director.

“I’m really working on it pero I don’t want to do a movie na napaka-basis nung plot na wala namang pagbabago,” he said.

Zoren said he has three films on his plate: a horror film, a gay film, and “Ang Huling Sayaw ni Salome.” However, he’s not in any hurry to finish his full-length movie directorial debut.

“I can still consider myself as a young guy. Marami pang pagkakataon so ayokong masayang yung full-length ko na movie,” he said.

What will compel him to do a movie for his full-length debut?
